Almedia Launches the Link SDK, Unlocking a New Path to Revenue Growth for Game Developers

Berlin, Germany – August 12, 2026 — Berlin-based mobile adtech company Almedia has launched the Link SDK, the production release of its in-game monetisation solution for game developers. The SDK was unveiled at the Link launch event during ChinaJoy 2026 in Shanghai. Game developers, industry partners, and media representatives gathered to explore new opportunities in player rewards, retention, and sustainable monetisation.
At the event, Moritz Holländer, CEO of Almedia, Iskander Pataudi, VP of Link, and Wang Jintao, Greater China New Business Lead for Gaming at Almedia, introduced Link’s product vision, core capabilities, and use cases, while sharing proven results from international markets.
Rewarded monetisation that extends lifetime value
As the global mobile gaming market continues to mature, user retention and lifetime value (LTV) are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, developers are exploring beyond traditional IAP and ad monetisation methodologies. Rewarded mechanics, which have already established themselves as an effective user acquisition channel, present a great opportunity for LTV increase and therefore higher growth and monetisation potential. Crucially, rewarded monetisation creates incremental revenue over the long term while maintaining a great player experience.
While Freecash focuses on user acquisition, Link extends rewarded engagement directly into the game experience, helping developers improve engagement, retention, and LTV while creating incremental revenue. Together, they form a more complete growth ecosystem spanning the entire player lifecycle.
Link: Real Rewards for Players, Incremental Revenue for Developers
Link is Almedia’s in-game rewarded engagement solution. Through Link, players can connect their Freecash account and earn real-world rewards as they progress through in-game milestones, while developers generate incremental revenue from every verified link.
For years, mobile game monetisation has relied on two core pillars: In-App Purchases (IAP) and In-App Advertising (IAA). Almedia describes Link as the basis of a third, complementary model: In-App Rewards (IAR).
Rather than replacing existing monetisation models, Link complements IAP and advertising by introducing a new incremental revenue stream. Players receive real-world rewards for completing eligible actions, while developers earn revenue from verified links.
What Link has already proven
Link is live in more than 210 games with over 40 publishers across 16 markets. Strong integrations can reach an install-to-link conversion rate of around 15 percent. Behind it sits Freecash, which works with more than 1,200 advertisers, has connected over 80 million users with games, apps and brands, and has paid out more than $300 million in rewards.
At the launch event, Almedia shared international performance data from Link. Game publisher Ovivo rolled Link out across 24 titles in 15 markets using the code-free integration alone, with no SDK, no API and minimal implementation work. The integration achieved an install-to-link conversion rate of approximately 15%, while increasing Day-21 retention by 28%, Day-30 ad revenue per user by 5%, and lifetime value by 16.8%.
Those results came from the code-free version of Link, before the SDK existed. They are the proof that rewarded in-game engagement creates value for publishers.
Introducing the Link SDK
That first version of Link was deliberately lightweight, and it was enough to prove the economics. The Link SDK is the next evolution of the product. It makes Link easier to integrate, faster to expand across a portfolio, more measurable, and able to support richer in-game reward experiences over time.
Developers can now choose between two integration paths: Magic Link, a code-free placement that needs no SDK and is built for fast testing and rollout across a portfolio, and the Link SDK, a deeper integration for developers who want the full in-game experience.
The SDK brings three components into the game:
Link. The SDK manages the secure linking flow, return to game and confirmation lifecycle. An exactly-once link-completion callback lets the game grant an immediate in-game reward.
Reward Progression. An in-game screen that keeps a player’s Freecash tasks and progress visible, so earning feels native to the game.
Offers. Players can discover new games from inside the publisher’s own title, and publishers earn an additional CPA when users reach a qualifying milestone in a game discovered through Offers. This is optional and controlled by the publisher.
Eligibility, geo availability and user state are managed by the SDK and the Almedia backend.
Integration is deliberately simple. Developers add the package, configure their app key, and place a Link entry point using pre-built components that can be restyled or replaced to match the game. Once campaign setup and integration keys are ready, developers can reach a first working Link in around 15 minutes; customized production integrations are typically measured in days. Magic Link remains available for publishers who prefer a code-free rollout.
Iskander Pataudi, VP of Link at Almedia, said: “Chinese developers have demonstrated exceptional strategic thinking and execution in global publishing and monetisation innovation. With Link, we hope to extend Almedia’s expertise in rewards and user growth even further, helping our partners create incremental revenue beyond existing monetisation models while increasing lifetime value. Link already worked, and the SDK makes it better. It puts the linking, the rewards and the progress inside the game, which is where the retention effect actually happens.”
